Arestin
Arestin
Fighting the advanced form of gum disease, called periodontal disease, can be difficult when patients have a lot of bacteria lying underneath their gums. This bacteria builds and can infect the sensitive gum tissue.
A common procedure performed here at the New York Dental Studio for this plaque beneath the gumline is root scaling and planing, but the infection may return without antibiotics. That is why we use Arestin, a strong type of antibiotic that battles infection in the pockets of the gums.
The basic procedure for Arestin is as follows:
1. Root scaling and planing is performed first, which removes bacteria and plaque from below the gumline.
2. The Arestin antibiotic is then applied into the pockets of the gums where they are infected.
3.Arestin starts working quickly and continues fighting off infection for the next 30 days.
Arestin comes in a powder form, making it easy for our dentist Dr. Brandon Huang to apply it to the pockets of the gums after completing root scaling and planing. It keeps the infection from spreading and prevents it from coming back.
To learn more about the benefits of periodontal treatment with Arestin, call our East 50th Street New York, NY office at (212) 588-1809.

Overall Oral Health
Overall Oral Health
Here at New York Dental Studio, we aim to improve our patient’s overall oral health with proper dental education and encouraging them to visit us on a regular basis. Dr. Brandon Huang recommends patients visit us at least every six months for their routine cleaning and check-up, as this helps us find problems early and offer the best possible treatment. It improves our patient’s oral health and their health overall, as dental health can affect many different parts of the body.
During biannual visits, we will begin by examining your face and neck and checking your lymph nodes and jaw joints. We will also examine your gums, teeth, and the tissues inside your mouth. An oral cancer screening is also included in these routine dental visits. X-rays are often taken during the twice-yearly exams, though not always. We finish the appointment with a professional dental cleaning and recommendations for treatments if we notice any issues with your dental health.
Schedule your appointment with Dr. Huang by calling us at 212-588-1809 or booking your appointment online.

Root Canals
Root Canals
Endodontics is performed here at New York Dental Studio as a dental specialty that includes procedures involving the nerves of the teeth. Root canals are one of the most common types of endodontic procedures performed in our New York, NY dental office. Root canals allow Dr. Brandon Huang to remove an infection from inside the tooth, where it has reached deep into the nerves and root of the tooth. It is a minor procedure that helps the patient save their tooth and avoid issues with bone loss.
Root canals have notoriously received a bad reputation because patients think that they will be in severe discomfort while undergoing a root canal. That is simply not the case anymore. Thanks to advanced techniques, state-of-the-art instruments and local anesthetic, it is a virtually painless process for our patients.
After the root canal is complete, patients are asked to return for a temporary crown. Two weeks later, a permanent crown is bonded to their tooth, which can last a very long time. It is important that our patients get the permanent crown, as their tooth is at risk of breaking following the root canal. If you’ve been recommended to have a root canal, don’t delay seeking treatment out of anxiety. Call us today at (212) 588-1809 to discuss the root canal procedure and process to set your mind at ease before your appointment.

Juvederm
Juvederm
Aside from essential dental procedures and popular cosmetic dental practices, New York Dental Studio also offers help for patients who have signs of facial aging. Whether it is smile lines or parentheses, skin fillers can create a more youthful appearance. Our patients can choose from a number of skin fillers, including Juvederm, which is a type of facial filler that helps restore the volume and smoothness of their skin.
Juvederm is an injectable facial filler that reduces the lines of wrinkles, skin folds and sinking skin. It is made from a substance called hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the tendons, skin and muscles of mammals. It is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the use as a facial filler and is provided by our dentist, Dr. Brandon Huang. Patients receive this injectable facial filler in 15 minutes or less right here in our New York, NY practice.
There is a short recovery time for Juvederm and very little sensitivity after the procedure is complete. It can be injected in multiple spots of the face, depending where the patient has the most trouble. It is commonly used for the corners of the mouth and nose, the cheeks, the lips and near the eyes. Call us at (212) 588-1809 to learn more about how skin fillers, including Juvederm, can help lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles and depressions.
